This morning we are greeted by thick fog, there is never a dull moment when it comes to the weather. By 10am it’s almost all burnt off so it’s a great day to head down to Twilight Cove.

We carry out bird surveys along Kanidal Beach, 13 Mile, Wader Beach and Twilight Cove, we are not disappointed. Spotting Red-Necked Stints and a White-bellied Sea Eagle was a good find. A pod of dolphins are seen feeding in a gutter close to shore on Kanidal Beach.

Twilight Cove is an iconic coastal landscape and we never lose interest in the challenging drive to get there. We enjoy lunch below 70m high cliffs that continue to the west bounded by the Southern Ocean and Nullarbor Plain.

As with anything here challenges arise and Kanidal beach is made inaccessible due to a higher than expected tide on our return trip so we took the adventurous Limestone Track. We traverse some unique harsh coastal landscapes.
