Another short trip, this time to Hart Hill Campground west of Warwick. A great spot, plenty of room, clean amenities and great hosts. We saw plenty of wildlife, including koalas, squirrel gliders, wallabies, frogs, many bird species and there is a resident platypus.
If you are so inclined you can pan and or metal detect for gold as the area is historically known for gold but heavily worked so don’t expect a truck load of precious metal. You will also need a QLD fossicking permit and comply with conditions.
We did enjoy driving the back roads, quite interesting forestry country. The trip home was interesting, we saw so many raptor species, many more than we would normally see. We wondered if there was a mouse issue out there.
