We continued southward today, travelling through Lithgow and stopping at Evans Lookout, it’s a great view of the Sandstone escarpment and quite a few native plants are in flower.

Then onto Katoomba. Another beautiful vista, unfortunately the visitation rate is so high that there is a lot of hardened infrastructure around the viewing area, with accompanying urbanisation and crowds a vastly different place to what I saw 50 years ago, it’s a place you would now only visit once.

We bypass Sydney and travel through the Royal National Park, then along the coastal highway to camp just off the beach at Coledale camping reserve. Dinner at the RSL, a good venue. A walk back to camp to listen to the surf.

A beautiful spot to watch the sun rise and explore the rock pools at nearby beaches.
