Today we are heading to Gosford to meet friends but take a detour to visit the Myall Lake region. It is blue skies and the day warms up nicely.
We make it to Seal Rocks in the morning and take a walk up to the Sugarloaf Point lighthouse. Plenty of birdlife amongst the coastal woodlands and some native flowers are out. Once at the lighthouse we are greeted by a Peregrine Falcon and we spot whales directly offshore. The view along the coastline is beautiful.
We then travel through Forster passing the lakes and, as there is no breeze they are like glass, recent heavy rain has meant the lake levels are high and many camp grounds are closed due to being inundated. The tall timber along the hills and melaleuca wetlands along the flats make this a wonderful place to visit and worthy of a need to spend more time here another day.
