It’s our last day on the coast so it’s a slow start. We utilise the camp kitchen at the Coalmine Beach caravan park, its quiet and located in a beautiful setting and the caretakers are friendly. The wildlife feel very comfortable in this caravan park. After breakfast we wander around the coastline near the caravan park, the Coalmine beach is quiet and beautiful. We then take a last drive through the forest and adjoining farmland stopping to look at creeks, trees and flowers and then make our way to Denmark for morning tea. We will return to this region definitely next year.

It’s then North past Mt Barker then East into the Stirling Ranges. Its another iconic landscape in Western Australia and a must see National Park. While the rain is chasing us we still have time to look around and take photos of the mountains and flowers. If you like bush walking, wildflowers or wildlife this park will satisfy all these interests.

We make a dash for our camp for tonight as the rain has set in. It might snow on the peaks tomorrow, yes it does snow here occasionally. We are staying at the Stirling Range Retreat, it supports and sympathises with the natural environment.
