Today we trekked out to Burnabbie to undertake a bird survey and collect more firewood as the days of late have been quite cool.
Along the North track the birdlife is prolific mainly honeyeaters, the mallee continues to flower and it provides an abundant food source for birdlife.
While mallee and bluebush dominate out here there are patches of Melaleuca woodlands and large eucalypt species, both are attractive and support plenty of wildlife.
Travelling back to base we note another species of Eremophila is in flower.
