Western Australia adventure – 27 June 2025

It’s resupply day today so we travel up to Cocklebiddy via the Pannikin Plain to do our bird survey. Amongst the grassland and Bluebush are some spectacular flowering and fruiting plants. We find the Quandongs on the North Track are starting to ripen while the sweet sticky Halganea found near the escarpment are showing off the beautiful blue flowers. We were also excited to see an Australian Hobby Falco lomgipennis, we haven’t seen one over here before and the Mulga Parrots, Psephotellus varius are always great to see.
