Western Australia adventure – 25 June 2025

The weather has improved, though a morning shower and ominous clouds streaming in from the southwest the weather could change quickly. While the tide is still too high and the weather is driving the water further up the beach we opt to travel along the Limestone track so we can survey Kanidal beach.

It’s hard in places to define the boundary between the retreating stormy weather and white dunes.

Despite the grey clouds colour can still be found on and near the beach. Strange landforms found make for an interesting adventure.

A field of pebbles, exposed after sand has been blown away
A field of Rhizomorphs
A cobweb of Rhizomorphs
Red macro algae
Varied coloured and shaped sponges
