We continue north travelling along the Strzelecki track through gibber country and white and red coloured deserts. Camp tonight is at Innamincka on the banks of the Cooper Creek. We have dinner at the hotel, always a good choice. There are plenty of birds about, we even hear the Owlet Nightjar about camp before we go to sleep.
The gibber plains have dried out but some areas still had a green tinge from recent rain, green fields on broad blood red plains with blue sky makes for a beautiful scenery. We enjoy the jump ups we pass by and climb over, great views in places.
It’s then onto Thargomindah where we are camped near the Bulloo River at the Explorers Caravan Park. We have been to this caravan park before, it has friendly staff and great facilities, plenty of room to spread out. The birdlife is prolific and is particularly so along the Bulloo River, which can be accessed by the well constructed and setup Riverside Walk, it is a real asset to the town.
We are only a few days from home so we will add a few photos and comments if something notable arises.
