Cooktown and back 13-14 July 2023

We depart Cooktown after a few wonderful days with our friend and travel South stopping along the way to take photographs. Our campsite is located on the North Johnstone River near Malanda Falls.

Though it’s raining (heavy at times) one cannot complain (it’s supposed to be the dry season) as we are located in one of Australia’s most important ecosystems, the rainforest, and it’s to be expected. The rain makes it a good time to visit the waterfalls and crater lakes (extinct volcanoes now full of water), graze on local foods and spot a Tree Kangaroo, that was very special.
