Jourama Falls campground is a great spot for relaxing, bird watching and getting a good soaking under a waterfall. Despite school holidays the camp ground has been quiet, no caravans as the track in is likely to be a distraction for them and the amenities are basic but clean, there is a shower but it’s cold water only.
A walk to view Jourama Falls is rewarding as it is picturesque and there are a number a number of side tracks that take you to clear pools and smaller waterfalls. The climb up to view the main falls is relatively steep on the last section but the track is well defined that said, check the official safety signs before attempting.
There is plenty of interesting native vegetation there are quite a few in fruit and some in flower. The Emerald Dove, Monarch’s, Spectacled and White-eared and and Fantails, Grey and Rufous can readily be found around the campsite. Brush Turkeys are plentiful. At night Owlet Nightjars, Bandicoots, White-tailed rats, Fruit bats and micro bats keep us entertained.
