The rain has chiefly gone and the morning light over Upstart Bay is kind, making nice photographs. This area is popular for birdlife and recreational fisherman, the later are vagrants that move out into the bay en masse in an armada of tinnies to fish on the rising tide, the former are more varied, interesting and kinder to fish stocks.
We leave mid morning making Townsville for lunch and resupply. Townsville has grown, a not so small city now.
We continue north looking in on Balgal Beach, a quiet community with camping available. A long beach that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Our camp for tonight is Jourama Falls campground in Paluma Range National Park. , a mixture of eucalypt and rainforest. A peaceful campsite.
