We wake to a cool morning an almost calm sea and gentle breakers on the beach, the pink sky and chorus of birds makes it a great start to the day. We head off out of the park, there is mist rising, which only adds to an already picturesque drive. We stop at a number of spots to view the wildlife or landscape.
We head off to Coffin Bay for a quick look. Its a busier place, but the 4WD tracks would be worthwhile exploring on another trip. It would be great fun to explore the shallow sheltered waters.
We drive on, amazed at the large gums that can be found in this predominantly dry limestone landscape. If you get the chance to explore the coast, do it, as the scenery is breathtaking. Surfers venture into dangerous waters below the cliffs, on one occasion we directed a surfer with hand signals 40m below us to his board that he lost in a huge wave.
Camp for tonight is Venus Bay, it seems to be little more than a fishing village. The caravan park is directly on the beach and we take advantage of a camp kitchen and warm showers. We were expecting a bit more from the bay but we may be spoilt, Memory Cove and others have been spectacular.
