Its a slow start today, something to do with dry weather and wine. The Brolgas are calling late into the morning and plenty of Budgies playing in the trees near our camp. We give our farewells to the publican and travel along the Mooraberree track, a station road/dirt track, and more interesting with no caravaners. Emus are common some are quite entertaining as they run around the shrub like chooks with no clear direction of travel in mind.
We stop at Windorah for lunch and travel a bit further photographing the stranded flood boat, one that our family has sat in or photographed for the last 20 years.
Our next stop is the bank of the Cooper Creek which is our camp for the night. Water birds are common and as the sun sets we are greeted by the calls of Barn owls.
