2020 trip – day 19 – Cooper Creek – Thargomindah

We are woken by the orange glow of light across the landscape. The Barn owls are making their last calls, Pelicans are cruising the river while formations of little black cormorants fly overhead. We chat to our neighbour about his night sky photographic activities, he is travelling by motobike, a simplier configuarion even by our standards.

Its lunch at Quilpie and then off to Thargomingah.

We camp at the Thargomindah caravan park. The skies and flowering mallee are full of White.-browed and Masked Woodswallows. Interestingly, the woodswallows are eating from the flowers, this bird is generally feeding on insects on the wing.
