We wake to a good frost, everything is white and frozen in time. The only stirring during the night was friendly wild horses very keen to check out your campsite.
We visit Yarrangobilly caves, first going for a swim at the thermal pool, not real thermal by Queensland standards but still a few laps achieved. We then go on a guided walk through the Jillabenan cave, it was a beautiful cave with plenty of history associated with it.
We drive onto Cabramurra (highest town is Australia) and have a coffee and chat to the store manager about the Snowy hydro power system which can viewed in real time from the digital management system. You could also watch how they monitor the bulk power supply being moved between states. All very interesting. A bit a talk about Snowy Hydro 2,
We then head on further south to Khancoban and opt for a cabin and early end to the day to rest after our earlier morning exercise.
