Into day 10, double figures!
Found we missed my Nephew by 35km whilst on the Tanami. He is flying in an ultralight with friends from Hindmarsh Island (South Australia) across the centre of Australia to Broome. http://www.microlightodyssey.com.au/home
They are at Balgo.
Communication communication communication, something that there is a shortage of in remote areas unless you have Sat phone or HF radio. Any way we chatted today and they are progressing well and we hope to see them in Winjana Gorge or Tunnel Creek or later this year.
Walked about town and had a look at some of the local mangroves. See if those who appreciate mangroves can ID the species?
Coffee in down town Broome and lunch at Matso’s, how civilized.
Our friend Margie who works with the communities in the Pilbra and Kimberley made a surprise visit and we head out to dinner at ‘Cafe d’Amore’. Hoping to catch up with her again somewhere on the Gibb River Road.
