Day 41 – Kakadu
An early morning walk to plunge pool was worth it very picturesque we then head off to our next camp. We cross South Alligator River, which is very peaceful and makes for a good photo stop.
We head North and stop at Cooinda for a coffee and Skyping, then onto Yellow Waters a beautiful wetland with abundant birdlife and fish. We also stop at the Warradjan Aboriginal Culture Centre, which is a fantastic interpretative centre and well worth a visit,
We travel a little further North before heading South on an easy dirt road to Garnamarr where we quickly setup camp.
After a quick lunch we head off down a narrow, rocky and sandy track to Jim Jim Falls. These falls are huge and though only a fraction of the water that flows over these falls in the wet season was seen to today their height and size still makes them impressive. The water in the plunge pool is also impressively cold and no self respecting Crocodile surely would swim here so we do.
