High Country, ranges, hills and desert 3 Sep 2023

Morning temperature reached 1.5°C but the local birdlife didn’t seem to mind. We take a detour out to Harrison’s Cut , a beautiful waterfall / slice created during the mining era. The water is cold, running crystal clear, and theremust be trout in that cold water as we see a couple of young fly fishermen making their way upstream. Some beautiful patches of red and pink found along this track.

We continue onto Dargo to have Father’s Day lunch at the hotel, a good spot to stop and food is great.

It’s then onto camp at Black Snake campground on the banks of the Mitchell River.

Next day we undertake a circuit drive up to Mt Cynthia, along the Mt Cynthia Range track, travelling along and through creeks, up very steep inclines only to decend the steep decline on the other side, it tested both the trucks and drivers. The reward was the adventure and top of the earth type views. Beautiful wildflowers are out.
