We are making short trips, travelling for a few hours and making regular stops. We fuel up at Warwick, it pays to use the App Fuelspy, it helps you identify the cheapest fuel in the area. The Stanthorpe area is noted for its fruit and veggies and particularly wines, we take advantage of all these, and enjoy some local red and white wines.
Camp tonight is Girraween National Park, an area of open woodland with Eucalypts and white pine nestled amongst the granite hills and boulders. Girraween is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place of flowers‘. There is certainly plenty of wattle in flower.
The night sky is clear, the temperature is dropping fast and possums are doing their rounds of the campground, we spotlight one in high in tree with someone’s fresh broccoli.
