Qld to WA – Sand and Water 2022 5 November

We have taken up a role as caretakers of a remote research station. This is week one operating without training wheels. We have experienced plenty of rain and wind but the last two days have been warm and fine.

We live in a piece of paradise, while the country can be harsh and unforgiving to fools, the mallee, bluebush, beach, cliffs, limestone country with its caves and blowholes and dunefield support an abundance of wildlife.

The flowering mallee country and wildflowers are beautiful. The Quandongs are bright red and ripe, they look like decorative baubles in the bush.

The bird survey work is great fun and adventurous.

There is plenty of historical sites to explore our residence is one of them.

The isolation is bliss.
