2022 Apr-May – Travelling the deserts – Day 22-26

We have spent time with the family taking time out to enjoy the local scenery and wildlife and those places that provide good food and beverage.

We noted an increase in the grey kangaroo population through the hills, some of these animals are very big and powerful, it’s very good to see.

Victor Harbour, Inman Valley, Hindmarsh Falls, the Lake Alexandrina and Goolwa environs and the glacial rock scar. There are 3 dredges at the Murray mouth still active keeping the entrance open. The autumn leaves in the hills are beautiful as ever. Exploring the back roads provides some interesting finds.

The paddle steamer history is rich in this part of the world as is the flowering plants in the Adelaide Hills heathlands. The geology is worth exploring as well. The Murray River and Fleurieu Peninsula coastline are centre pieces for the local landscape.
