The morning is cool and sky cloudy but the May sunlight produces soft pastel coloured skies. Fitzgerald National Park is large, unique and the home of one of the most diverse plant species in the world. The landscape is made up of rugged granite hills and gentle hills and valleys covered in heathland. We exit the national park via the Hamersley Drive a picturesque trip over a gravel road. We must have stopped 30 times to view a new flower or gaze at a magic landscape. (Thank god for a patient driver)

We stop at Jerramungup, a small country town on the South Coast Highway then onto the Stirling Ranges for a quick look, we will return here later, finally onto Albany for the night.
