Willow Springs

We are up early and make a beeline for the camp kitchen. Willow Springs is a working sheep station and it also provides excellent facilities for campers and glampers.

We head off on a 80 km trek around the station, it’s fantastic wonderful scenery and a challenging 4WD track. We view Ancient indigenous petroglyphs, changing habitats and wonderful scenery. There are still wildflowers to see and plenty of birdlife and a variety of kangaroo species. There are a number of historical farm buildings to explore one restored by a 4WD club, interesting to note a shooters club sub branch were contributing to yellow footed rock wallaby conservation.

Some areas you can’t go into as they are set aside for the yellow footed rock wallaby, a endangered species that Willow Springs contribute to protect.

At the last point the highest on the track, over 700m, we signed the visitors book, Marg standing by the truck being the driver for the day.
