Lost City to Lorella Springs – day 41 and 42

The Lost City in the morning sun is picturesque. Spires on fire.

We take a short trip to Lorella Springs. Lorella Springs is a cattle property open to the public, amenities are very good and you can access many parts of this country if you have a 4WD. We explore the Yiyintyi Ranges a rugged range full of interesting geology, landscapes and wildlife. The waterholes are crystal clear and cold, the fish don’t seem to mind. We explore a tunnel that has formed naturally,  cutting about 90m through one side of a sandstone hill to the other.

We enjoy dips in the warm thermal pools around camp and enjoy the antics of the many micro bats that fly around camp and drink at the pools. The barking owls were also calling.

Spotted a buffalo early in the morning on the track, he saw us and lumbered off at a half gallop into the scrub

We explore the track looking for aboriginal art, we found some but expect there is a lot more.
