Day 29 sees us head to Palmerston to restock, wash and sort out business and permits. We stay at the Free Spirit Caravan Park, it’s lovely, clean and leafy. An Orange-footed Scubfowl keeps us entertained. 

Next day we head to Kakadu to check out Cahill Crossing on the East Alligator River prior to crossing on early Tuesday morning. We are interested in the water level and crocodiles. We have organised to catchup with a local with boat at Coburg Peninsula so we can travel around the marine park. There is an old British military facility at Port Victoria and the ruins of a settlement so we are keen to investigate.The wetlands still have plenty of birds. Bowali is still a good interpretative centre. 

We visit Ubirr at  sunset. Small critters around the camp. : )
