After breakfast we make a beeline for the Manning Falls. This involves a swim across the river or self propelled boat ride via means of a pulley.
Despite the continued dry and warm weather the wildflower are out. The hibiscus are particularly beautiful as are the paper like daisies.
We reach Manning Falls after a 45 minute walk. The falls are stunning, plenty of water is pouring into a deep pool, which we spend half the day admiring or swimming in. Plenty of Rainbowfish and Bream, thankfully there are some places that are free from exploitation.
We head back at midday. It’s a very warm day. The trip across the river ends in another swim.
We head to Barnett Roadhouse for a ice cream, what a luxury. We have a look at Barnett Gorge, it’s a rough track in but the grassy woodland is beautiful.
Then it’s off to Mount Elizabeth Station through some large treed woodlands, it’s surprising to see such big trees in such a challenging environment.
We book in and chat to the owners, Margie has left a message with the station and said she and Robyn will be joining us tomorrow to do the first part of the Munja Track.
Dingoes are howling, the campsite supports good amenities it’s another good end to a good day.
