Kimberley 2013 – day 14

Went for an early morning walk looking for the elusive Gouldian Finch. None sighted : (

Breakfast then we commence to leave this beautiful spot to head to Derby. On the track out we come across a small flock of Gouldian Finches and an entourage of masked and long-tailed finches and Chestnut-breasted Mannikins. : ). The camera is clicking away. : ) Last year we sighted them around a bath tub this time in a cleared patch of grassland. A very nice finish to this leg of the trip.

In Derby and have mains power and Internet, what a treat. Likely to lose both once we hit the Gibb River Road. Hoping to drop in a see Mary-Jane who lives just off the Gibb.

Hoping also to catch up with Daryl and Elsie and their ultra-light flying friends over the next few days while in Derby.
