Day 45 – Katherine
We are resting in Katherine and preparing the truck and replenishing supplies before heading South to cross the Plenty Highway. This highway runs across the top of the Simpson Desert between the Stuart Highway and the Queensland border west of Boulia.
Today visited Cutta Cutta caves just south of Katherine and the old Springvale Station both fascinating places.
It is Monday. We are in OT1. Where else would we rather be. We all assume that you’d also rather be here with us, rather than in that smelly truck, traversing the Great Australian Nothingness. Go on – tell us we’re wrong. Robbo is labouring over a stuffed wrist, we still have a shoulder to go, and it s already 4.30pm. What could be better? Saw Annie Crawford. She says she is sooooo glad to be back at work. Said she had an awful time and was really pleased to be back among true dedicated professionals. You will be too. We all bet you can’t wait. Here’s hoping the rest of your trip flies by, and you’re back in OT1 with all of us again soon.
