The mornings are getting darker, so torches during the weather time are essential and a novelty, the best thing is. we get to see all these beautiful sunrises and be greeted by the microbats as they fly home to their roost in the shed. The morning sun sets the house and trees glowing. Then there is the symphony played by the resident birds. A native mouse was found in the house, possibly a native hopping mouse but we haven’t had it expertly identified. The house mice seem to come in waves, with good days and bad days. We do our usual run to Cocklebiddy, doing a survey along the North Track, dropping rubbish at the dump and 2 gas bottles at the roadhouse for future exchange then picking up stores, lunch at Cocklebiddy Roadhouse and a survey along the Microwave track. Wildlife cameras to be setup tonight to try track the night creatures wandering around the EBO. Light rain tonight.
We have spent time getting the vegetable garden back into working order, tomatoes, spinach and plenty and varied herbs are doing well.
The Salt bush is flowering and fruiting in the immediate house area, as are some of the acacias. Further afield we are still finding many flowering trees and shrubs some quite unusual. Recent light rain has been welcomed.
