We were doing some bird survey work on the Pannikin Plain and found plenty of Budgerigar, Melopsittacus undulatus, this is the first time it’s been seen here since 2017. We found one pair nesting, which was good news.
Still plenty of flowers to photograph on the Blue Bush and Mallee country. Nankeen Kestrels nesting in the Pannikin doline.
As we approach Cocklebiddy to pickup supplies we had to give way to a rescue helicopter landing at Cocklebiddy for a refuel while in transit to Esperance.
The night continues to be ablaze with astronomical delights.
