We are exploring part the Backroads Trail and other such roads, taking us from Deniliquin to Barham, crossing the Murray River, to Koondrook, Kerang, Quambatook, and Donald. We find a lovely park for lunch at Minyip, then on via Horsham, Edenhope and Penola finally finishing up on the southeast coast of South Australia at Beachport. We enjoyed areas where the open landscapes was dotted with 100’s of ancient old growth trees, thankfully most farmers seem to protect them. A long day but it means we will avoid the 40° heat forecast for the next few days. Getting out of the car at Beachport was bit of a shock, it was 17°, all day the temp had been in the 30s, and it was the first time in the week on the road we needed sleeves.
