From Birdsville we head east to Quilpie where we stop to refuel and grab some items from the bakery and then have lunch at Lake Houdrahan.
We then take the black road north which follows the Bulloo River north then connects up with the Quilpie Adavale Road, stopping to look at the wildlife and flowers.
We camp at the free council provided campground at the local community centre and hall, where a donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service is all that is required. We have hot showers and flushing toilets, what luxury. The community hall has local historical information posted around the walls, it’s very good. We have a meal at the pub the food is good and the publican a really interesting and friendly character.
