Heavy mist engulfs the campsite but by the time we get going it’s beginning to lift, a blue sky can be seen. We travel up the Dargo High Plains Road, taking us up to 1,600 m. The recent fire damage is evident and government Dept. Fire crew were still active managing fires and undertaking restoration works. As all the side tracks are closed we press on, the views over what seems endless Mountains is still makes this a great part of the trip.
We have a pie stop at Bright and make our way to the Murray Valley Highway and onto the Barmah Forest, a Forest red gum wetlands listed under RAMSAR.
