We left Banka Banka Station where we camped for the night and headed South at the prescribed 130kmh.
Blew a tyre just north of Tennant Creek but a quick change and then a quick tyre replacement at Bridgestone Tennant Creek was so fast that it would have almost equalled a pit stop at Bathurst.
We stop at Barrow Creek, a must stop to check out the old Telegraph station and hotel?
We pass convoys of Grey Nomads and many road trains, many heading North. Why are we heading South!
We make Alice Springs after lunch. We have a look around town. Interesting to note the huge gums in the city mall and free power points to charge iPhones. How progressive and what a difference the trees make, creates a very pleasant cool environment, and brings in colourful wildlife. Its a stark contrast to the anti tree policies adopted by the bogan councillors in the Redlands and Brisbane City Council.
We stock up with food and enjoy the luxuries that a caravan park provides. Tomorrow we are heading to Oodnadatta via some back roads to Mt Dare then onto Northern Flinders Ranges. All going well we will then head North East up the Strzlecki Track to Innaminka.
